Worcester Public Schools was one of the first districts to receive IPP funding. There has always been a waiting list to get into our Technical High School, so having IPP at each of our seven high schools opens up opportunities for many more students. Students can earn high school credits and a certificate, both of which are meaningful for Higher Ed and the World of Work.

IPP helps us learn applied skills and earn useful certifications that we don’t have to wait to use. It helps us get over the fear of being in the real work world. It really helps with communication and organizing skills. It shows us how we can do something to make a real difference in the world.

Student Reflections

In addition to us helping them learn professional skills, the students teach us to think about how we do things and how to explain it. Supporting IPP now provides us with a good way to help students move into good careers locally, and helps us have a good local talent pool to attract for our business.
